Let's meet Dave Ross.

Sheboygan native David P. Ross, attended St. Peter Claver, Farnsworth Jr. High, and Sheboygan South High. He also attended UW-Sheboygan as an English major.

David recently retired from Krier Foods Corporation where he had been employed as a Lab Technician. Previous employment consisted of various sales and factory jobs, most notably Borden Foods in Plymouth and H.C. Prange’s in Sheboygan where, in addition to other positions, he was one of several “Bruce the Spruce’s”.

His only employment outside of Sheboygan county was during his early twenties, spending three years as a musician in a traveling Top-40 band, highlighted by playing in Oahu, Hawaii in the summer of 1982.

David has been married to his wife for 39 years, they have three children and four grandchildren. Over the years the family has enjoyed camping, Packer games, water-skiing, family trips to the Wisconsin Dells, and many other activities. David has enjoyed coaching soccer and later helping with Sheboygan’s recreation department basketball league as a supervisor.

Becoming a Christian in 1983, David has been involved as a Sunday school teacher, music leader, youth group director, and has done jail visitation ministry.  For fun he enjoys holidays and all family gatherings, breakfast with new and old friends, singing karaoke, and watching his oldest son’s ’90s band!

Why school board?  As David puts it: 1) Because of my love for children and teens, I want to join in the efforts that are made to best equip them to enter the workforce when their schooling is over. 2) I would like to be a voice of reason and examine whether all things presented in the classroom are what we would consider “The Best” things for our students. 3) I would like to help in restoring SASD’s falling test scores.

What I bring to the table:  Love for kids and community, integrity along with the ability to work with others to achieve goals paired with a consistent desire to present new strategies and ideas.

Let's meet Julie Kelly.

Julie Kelly, a Sheboygan native, is a happily married mother of five with two grandchildren.

An active participant at Immaculate Conception Church, Julie spends much of her time involved in her school-aged children’s academics while frequently managing, coaching, or attending their extra-curricular events.

Julie is currently employed at Lakeshore Display in addition to being employed at the Village at 170 for the past fifteen years.

Julie has decided to run for the Sheboygan Area School District Board of Education because she feels strongly that education is the foundation for the future of our city. As Julie indicates, “I would be honored to serve my community by always keeping the interest of our students at the forefront during my term.”

Let's meet Haley Stuckmann.

Haley S. Stuckmann is a Sheboygan native and has attended Sheboygan area schools. She graduated high school with honors and was a member of the National Honor Society. While earning her Associate Degree in Horticulture Business Management from LTC, she interned at Maywood Environmental Park where she was hired upon her graduation.

In addition to her above-mentioned employment, Haley recently worked for the Republican Party of Wisconsin as she held the position of Field Director for Ron Johnson.

Haley attends Sheboygan’s Hope Reformed Church and actively participates in their Praise Team and Holiday Worship Choirs, their Youth Ministry, their Hospitality Team, along with assisting during their Community Meal Program.

Why School Board? As a relatively recent graduate of both high school and technical college, Haley witnessed firsthand the deterioration of our Sheboygan Area School District and the toll it has taken on our students. Standards are noticeably different than they were a few years ago with academic expectations lower and widespread classroom chaos as the norm.

As Haley indicates, “our graduation rates are declining, comprehension scores are plummeting, and many don’t even know it is happening. Now, more than ever, it is vital that we help to set the pace for students of our community to be successful and I truly feel that I could be a voice for the students, for the parents, and for the members of this community.”
